Compensation: $54.15 to $62.70 hourly
Do you want to work as a Controller? Robert Half has a current opening for a contract opportunity you don't want to miss. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting department. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. - Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
- Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
- Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
- Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
- Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
- Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
- Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team
- Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
- Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
- Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties
- Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management- Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
- CPA Designation is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail
- Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
- BA in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
- Prior work done in public accounting is desired
- Annual Operating Budget experience preferred
- Accounts Receivable (AR) + Accounts Payable (AP) experience required
- Experience with budget forecasting
- Bank reconciliations experience
- Experience with Cost Accounting and Cash Flow Analysis
- Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
